What is dry needling
Dry Needling is a professional modality that utilizes the Nervous System’s natural connection with the muscles to help Un-Program Pain, Stimulate Recovery, and Increase Coordination.
From elite athletes to high performing office workers and everyone in between, it is has proven to show outstanding results for millions of people with all types of injuries or pains that need a boost.
Utilizing the same needles as Acupuncture, but a completely different theory, Dry Needling uses a small electric current to initiate muscle activity in order to re-program the current reactivity and sensitivity in an area.
The term “Dry Needle” is used due to the needles being tiny and solid rather than large and hollow like the ones that are used to give injections.
-
After trauma or injury to a muscle or area, the brain then builds the expectation of pain and will create compensatory movements to protect an area.
Dry Needling helps to create new data points for the brain to allow for a re-calibration and return to normal function of a muscle without the protective pain mechanism constantly telling you that something is wrong.
-
The current placed through the needles creates a muscle contraction which stimulates blood flow to the area. Often it is challenging to initiate muscle activation without completing a full movement which might be painful or not possible based on the circumstances.
Dry Needling allows for the specific muscles to be stimulated to initiate and accelerate recovery.

Really good about your training but have a knee or shoulder that always flares up for a few days?
Stay ahead of it by giving those finicky muscles some love periodically to make sure that your training is always efficient and your muscles are not slowly moving back into compensatory habits that seem to be constantly recurring for you.
Dry needling helps your muscles stay healthy and coordinated to prevent this annoying cycle.
